Welcome to the next installment of the Rockinsnow Dance Community website. We have made a heap of changes based on feedback from our members.

To view maps and calenders and members, click on the "Community" link on the top menu.

You can login using your username and password from the old site

If there are any issues with this do not re-register contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   and provide the email address and your username and password that you are trying to login with and Trina will sort it out for you.

Changes include:-

You no longer have to log in twice to enter a calendar event and update your profile, its one login only for everything.

To enter an event in the calendar simply click on the "view full calender" link on the left hand menu and click on the day your event takes place and fill out the details - it is that simple.

To enter your latest newsletter login and use the news and articles link on the top menu.  you can upload your file here by clicking on the upload icon in the top right of the page.  If you wish to link to an online newsletter select "Link a file from another server to this server".

You have a user menu visible to you the entire time you are logged in no matter what page you are visiting on the site.  your user menu allows you to do the following:-

  • Add a News Item - to the site (great way to promote anything or add a single news item)
  • Add a weblink - choose your category and add your clubs site to our weblinks page or any other links that are on topic and of interest
  • Your Details - Edit your name, email address and password here.
  • Logout
  • Manage events - manage your events in the calender here
  • Profile - View your profile, when viewing your profile you can:
    • Edit your profile, profile image and connections with other members by selecting the "Menu" link in the top left corner.
    • Forum tab - Manage your preference and signature for the forums, see your forum submissions in "View" mode
    • Profile Book - Manage your profile book settings, other registered members can send you messages in "view" mode
    • Map Co-ordinates - If your club is not placed exactly right on the google map you can enter your longitude and lattitude in your contact tab. (not visible in view mode)
    • News Items - View any news items  you have submitted (not visible in edit mode)

Maps are now integrated with google maps and will show the exact location of your club or organisation based on the address you have supplied in your profile - so make sure this is correct.  If you find your tag is not exactly right simply enter your longitude and lattidue co-ordiantes as mentioned above.  To find out what these are you can visit http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html to find the exact details of a point.

We were asked if it was possible to create forums to help people locate a dance partner.  YES we can.  Our new forums allow individuals (non community members) to register with a profile so they can take an active part in our forums.  We have even created a forum just for finding a dance partner.

Searches are just as easy as they were before but now you can accurately select the type of member you want to find all from the one page - visit our Community menu link to view.
